We are seeking to appoint a caretaker to work at All Saints’ V.A. School.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - The range of work carried out by the caretaker/cleaner covers the maintenance of the premises [internal & external] under the direction of the Headteacher.
Provide a high quality maintenance service within the school building including cleaning, lighting, decoration and heating.
Carry out routine and non- routine security procedures for building and grounds, including as key holder, opening, closing and responding to alarm callout, as well as ad-hoc emergencies.
1. Unlock building each morning and check for vandalism or damage, report this and clear up where necessary. Carry out all routine procedures as well as minor repairs, using appropriate maintenance tools
2. Clearing of weeds, rubbish from grounds & emptying of bins
3. Ordering, distributing & safe storage of all materials related to Caretaking and cleaning. Maintaining storage areas in a clean and tidy condition
4. Make arrangements via Headteacher for repairs or maintenance beyond the capability of the Caretaker to be carried out by contractor. Supervise contractors on site
5. Cleaning as directed
6. Monitor building cleaning and ground maintenance work carried out by contractors in accordance with set procedures
