Are you looking for a new challenge in 2018?
We are looking to appoint Independent Safeguarding and Reviewing Officers to act as lead officers in co-ordinating an effective inter-agency response to children in need of protection and those who are Looked After. The successful candidates will develop and ensure consistent and effective practice, in line with statutory requirements. They will work in partnership with other agencies and chair meetings including Child Protection Conferences, Review Meetings and Looked After Children Reviews.
To be the right person for one of these roles, you will have excellent communication skills, proven experience of working as part of a team, previous experience of working with children as well as a thorough understanding of social work processes and professional codes of practice.
You will be expected to respond to the needs of children and their families, working within statutory guidelines, policies and standards such the Children Act 2004 and the Social Services and Well-being Act 2014 and provide advice and support to other professionals when required.

In order to be considered for these posts you must be a registered Social Worker with considerable practice and management experience of providing services to children in need of protection and those looked after by WCBC.
