The WCBC Play & Youth Support Team aims to protect and improve children’s opportunities for play across the county borough and is currently responsible for managing and developing a number of open access community playschemes. Successful applicants will have the energy and drive to develop and facilitate rich play environments for children aged 5 to 15 years old for up to six hours per day.
Applicants will have a commitment to high quality play provision and the playwork principles and an understanding of play’s importance in children’s lives. All applicants must be able to demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills.
Successful applicants will be employed year round, on a temporary contract until the end of March 2019 and will be required to work more hours during school holidays than in term time. The number of hours each successful applicant is employed for will be agreed after the interview stage.
