[CLOSING DATE: Fri, 20 Apr 2018] Housing & Economy Department Tourist Information Advisor 10 hours per week L04£8.19 - £8.85 per hour An opportunity has come up for a suitable candidate to join the Wrexham Tourist Information team, based in the town centre. Working over two days (Wednesday and Saturday), the post holder will be required to be confident dealing with public enquiries, trustworthy, have a good knowledge of the wider Wrexham County area and be comfortable working alone (Saturday’s only). Wrexham County is undergoing a rapid growth in tourism, with visitors bringing in over £116m each year, a growth of more than 30% over 5-years. Our Tourist Information Centre team is based on Lambpit Street in the town centre and welcomes visitors from the local community, the UK and different parts of the world each day. The team are also expanding their retail offering in 2018/19 with a growth in local produce along with visitor information and souvenirs, therefore are looking for a new team member to support this growth and also assist the Destination Manager in actively championing the town centre and wider County Borough to visitors. The post holder will work alongside another team member on a Wednesday and alone on a Saturday. It should also be noted that although the Wednesday hours (10.00am – 4.00pm) are permanent, the Saturday post (10.30am – 2.30pm) is temporary for six months. It is also necessary for the post holder to be flexible in their working hours, as occasional cover will be required for holidays and any other absences that may arise.
