The Housing and Economy Department have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Building Maintenance Officer position within the Facilities Maintenance Department. We are looking to appoint a dynamic and self-motivated individual to oversee and take a lead on all aspects of building maintenance on the council’s non housing building stock.
You will …• provide a professional building surveying service to client departments for all non-housing property, including reactive, legislative, planned and cyclical maintenance• provide advice and support to the Design team on the maintenance of new build, refurbishment and improvement schemes• ensure that the Council’s non-housing property portfolio meets the requirements of service occupiers and all statutory regulations• be personally aware of and adhere to systems and processes to ensure compliance with relevant Building Maintenance legislation
Essential requirements for the post include a degree in a building related subject, extensive experience of the built environment, and detailed knowledge of construction related statutory requirements and procedures. Applicants must have the ability to manage the Council’s diverse property portfolio and a wide range of contractors, possess excellent organisational, communication and time management skills, have a high level of numeracy and literacy skills, and be flexible with a customer focussed approach to the working environment.
