[CLOSING DATE: Fri, 4 Oct 2019] We are looking to recruit a Senior Governor Support Officer to lead the work of the local authority’s Governor Support Services team which forms an integral part of the Education and Early Intervention Department.
The successful candidate will be expected to:
• To manage the delivery of the Local Authority’s support services to Governing Bodies• To directly advise schools and Governing Bodies in respect of their statutory legal responsibilities.• To develop and oversee the annual programme of governor and clerk training and support programme (including Welsh Government mandatory governor training).• To provide direct line management to the service delivery staff and ensure their adherence to service quality standards and statutory timescales.• To support senior managers in designing and delivering packages of support to schools and governing bodies to contribute to school improvement and school reorganisation.
The main office location is Wrexham town centre, however regular travel will be required to schools across the county borough, as well as to attend regional and national meetings on behalf of the council. The post requires regular evening work.
