Full Time, 37 hours, Permanent
We are looking to appoint a suitably experienced and qualified candidate to work within the Contracts and Engineering team to design and manage schemes in relation to highway improvements and civil engineering projects.
To be the right person for this role you will have experience in civil engineering contract management protocols, knowledge and experience of providing and designing engineering solutions and be able to demonstrate an understanding of scheme and contractor management throughout a variety of highway service areas.
The post holder will possess a familiarity with NEC contracts, highways and technical specifications and have the ability to design, plan and supervise schemes from concept to completion with minimal Supervision.
An understanding of operational practices in respect of highway maintenance with particular respect to carriageway surfacing and sustainable highway drainage would be an advantage.
A qualification in Civil Engineering to HNC standard or equivalent is an essential requirement in addition to the ability to demonstrate excellent communication skills. The successful candidate must have the ability to work as an effective and motivational team member to establish and meet deadlines and develop and maintain working practices which are compliant with established protocols and the statutory and regulatory functions of the department.
