Information Outreach Officer - (specialist for Children's disability) - (FTT - EXT)

[CLOSING DATE: Fri, 8 Nov 2019] Information Outreach Officer – G07 –£23,836 - £25,295 – 37 hours – temporary until 31/03/2021 WCBC is seeking to appoint a temporary specialist Information and Outreach Officer to work with and support families of children with disabilities and additional needs. The successful candidate will have experience of working with these children and families, good engagement skills with parents and children and a knowledge of disability and additional needs which will enable them to offer families advice and support (practical and emotional) at a pre- and post- diagnosis stage with a range of issues: family health and wellbeing, dealing with feelings of loss and trauma, managing specific conditions, behaviour management, general care (sleep / nutrition / play / development / communication / inclusion) and will be able to signpost and refer families to specialist agencies also offering support provision. The focus of this work will be on children aged 0-18 who are not receiving services from the WCBC Disability Team.
