Apprentice Horticulturist, Wrexham Cemetery
The apprenticeship offered is for applicants 16-19 years old only, due to the funding requirements of the qualification.
The post is for a fixed term contract of 20 months. The first 12 months are paid at the National Minimum Wage rate for an apprentice, currently £3.40 per hour. The last 8 months are paid at Wrexham County Borough Council’s rate for spinal column point 6 currently £7.52 per hour.
The hours of work are 37 hours a week, Monday to Friday to suit the needs of the service.
The post holder must be willing to learn horticultural and grounds maintenance skills to enable them to maintain the Wrexham Cemeteries grounds and commit to undertaking training provided by Wrexham County Borough Council through Coleg Cambria to reach a level 2 work based diploma in Horticulture.
