The Aim of the Coach & Volunteer programme is to enable local people to acquire new skills, knowledge and personal development to make a positive impact within our local community through volunteering opportunities. The Coach & Volunteer Coordinator role is designed to encourage participation in local people, by providing as many opportunities as possible. These opportunities are for people of all ages and abilities in a wide range of sports. Therefore, we are seeking an individual who will, as part of a team, be responsible for recruiting, training and retaining volunteers and coaches across the County Borough. The successful candidate will be able to develop a sustainable coaching pathway across the Local Authority.
Aspirations of the role of the Coach & Volunteer Coordinator would be……..
To Recruit – Increase Coaching and volunteering opportunities to be made available for all across the County Borough;
To Train - All coaches will be qualified to a level appropriate for his or her role. With support, the appropriate candidate will be encouraged to build on the skills that will enable personal tutoring skills;
To Deploy - Every new qualified coach will be deployed and active in delivering coaching sessions; and
To Retain - All coaches will feel valued and will have access to opportunities to develop their coaching skills.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, co-ordination and implementation of the Sports Development Coach & Volunteer programme, across the county borough. However, the duties and responsibilities in this job description are not exhaustive. The post holder may be required to undertake other duties that may be required from time to time within the general scope of the post and team.
