[CLOSING DATE: Fri, 1 Sep 2017] We are looking to appoint an exceptional candidate to support the management of the Family Support Team. The Assistant Team Manager will guide the team in its approach to providing effective assessment and support services to support the safety and wellbeing of children across the county.
The Family Support Team provides a child protection and family support service to those families who have been assessed as requiring services to meet the needs of vulnerable children.
In adherence with relevant legislation, policies and procedures and the National Framework for the Assessment of children in need and their families, the team provides a social work service to children and families subject to child protection or Care and Support Plans.
To be the right person for one of these roles, you will have excellent communication skills, proven experience of managing / supervising staff, previous experience of working with children as well as a drive and passion for supporting families and improving outcomes for children, ensuring their safety and wellbeing is paramount.
You will be expected to manage a team of staff, ensuring that they respond appropriately to the needs of children and their families whilst working within statutory guidelines, policies and standards such the Children Act 1989 and 2004 and the Social Services and Well -being Act 2014. You will contribute to the ongoing development of the service and have the ability and confidence to deputise for the Team Manager in their absence.
In order to be considered for these posts you must be a registered Social Worker, have a Post Qualifying Award and a management qualification.
