Wrexham County Borough Council is seeking to appoint a Category Manager to help drive forward best practice procurement and deliver increased improvement and efficiency from the Authority’s purchasing activity. The post will form part of the corporate Commissioning, Procurement and Contract Management unit.
Providing procurement expertise and nurturing key stakeholder relationships the post holders will develop value for money outcomes by delivering and advising on a portfolio of category areas, contracts and frameworks.
As part of the Commissioning, Procurement and Contract Management unit, the post will also support the embedding of the Council’s Procurement Strategies and will involve working on e-procurement, the collaborative agenda and related supply chain issues.
The role has a broad remit with key focus on delivering new arrangements and challenging existing. Holding a CIPS or similar professional qualification candidates should be able to demonstrate significant experience in work related to the post.
