The governors of Darland High School are looking to appoint a passionate Mathematics teacher and a committed team player to join our Faculty of Mathematics. You will join a very high performing team, who have experienced significant improvement in both KS3 and KS4 outcomes in recent years.
Darland High School is an 11-16 English medium comprehensive school with 850 students on roll. Serving a cluster of villages in between Wrexham and Chester, the school enjoys easy road and rail access to North West England and North Wales.
The school has a reputation for academic excellence, achieving results at both key stages, which are consistently above both local and national averages. Results in Mathematics have improved significantly in recent years and this year, 75% of the Year 11 cohort achieved A*-C in either Mathematics or Mathematics Numeracy GCSE, with 32% gaining A or A*. We have close relations with the local community as well as with neighbouring schools, with whom there is a spirit of active curriculum collaboration. The school is set in extensive landscaped grounds and has benefitted from a major rebuilding programme, which saw a new science and ICT block open recently. As a result of the significant and sustained improvement in standards at the school, we are oversubscribed for September 2017.
