I am writing to invite Approved Mental health practitioners within Adult Social Care to apply for this temporary post for up to 12 months initially while the service is under development. This is with a view of creating a permanent team.
The successful candidates must be a qualified AMHP.
This is an exciting time for adult social care in creating a new service which will meet the demands for the Local Authority in our statutory duty for the provision of Approved Mental Health Practitioners (AMHP’s). Over the next 12 months the AMHP team will be under development and these roles are fundamental in meeting the current demand.
The main duties of this post is to support the lead AMHP in managing the demand of Mental health Act assessment referrals and associated development of the team, policies and processes. This role will include coordination of assessments and associated responsibilities such as completing CTO’s and supporting the teams with professional meetings and MDT’s where required. This role may include other duties as requested by the Local Authority Team manger and Head of Service to support the mental health team.
The current expectation that this service will run between the hours of 9am – 5 pm however this is open to change dependant on the needs of the service as this develops and this could extend to 7pm on a rota basis. It is expected that team members will work allocated core hours to meet the demands of the service.
Closing date: 5th January 2018
If you are interested in applying, please contact Becky Baker Local Authority team manager for further information and discussion on 01978 726730.
This post requires an up to date Disclosure and barring service check (DBS) and to be register with Care Council for Wales.
Wrexham Council welcomes applications from suitably qualified candidates regardless of race, gender, disability, sexuality, religious belief or age.
