Social Worker - Adult Safeguarding Level 2/3 - (FTP - EXT)

[CLOSING DATE: Fri, 5 Apr 2019] WREXHAM COUNTY BOROUGH COUNCIL ADULT SOCIAL CARE Level 2/3 Social Worker Safeguarding and DOLS Team L08 – L09 – Salary £24,657 –£31,401 p.a. 37 hours per week This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a newly developed team as a lead practitioner in Safeguarding. Applications are sought for the post of Social Worker within the Adult Safeguarding & DOLS team. A level 3 social worker is desirable; however applications from level 2 social workers with a minimum of 12 months practice experience will be considered. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate an interest in developing their knowledge and understanding of Adults at risk in accordance with Part 7 of the Social services well-being ( Wales) Act 2014. It would be advantageous to have previous experience of working with Adults at risk, however this is not essential. The Adult Safeguarding and DOLS team works closely with partners agencies to address and manage risk to individuals who are suffering from, or at risk of abuse or neglect. This includes liaising and working in partnership with Police, BCUHB, CIW, Council & Social Services departments and other statutory & non statutory agencies. Therefore experience of Multidisciplinary working would be an advantage. An understanding of DOLS would be desirable however this is not essential for the post. The post holder will be expected to work within a legal framework and to be able to apply this into practice to minimise risks to individuals. It is desirable that the post holder has experience of working with adults who are at risk and who are confident in managing conflict. The team operate in a person centred way to ensure that the person remains central to the process therefore the successful candidate would be expected to demonstrate this in their practices.
