The Council is creating an in-house Enforcement Team to collect outstanding income due to the council.
This team will be responsible for the collection of debts including: Council Tax, Non Domestic rating, Penalty Charge Notices, Sundry Debt and Former Tenant Arrears
We are seeking to appoint a Trainee/Certificated Enforcement Agent who must:
o Be able to visit properties within the Borough and beyond, executing warrants (i.e. Liability orders etc) for non payment of debts, with a view to obtaining payment in full, by way of payment arrangement or by the removal of goods to satisfy the debt.
o The Enforcement Agent will be responsible for carrying out enquiries to the whereabouts of potential absconders whilst considering relevant data protection regulations.
o Have excellent communication skills, he/she will be responsible for regularly dealing with enquiries from customers or their representatives
o Maintain accurate administrative records of cases through use of technology
o Be hardworking, self motivated individual who has proven ability to collect Local Authority income
o Must work to achieve targets set by Enforcement Services Manager.
The Enforcement Agent must:
o Have a current Full UK Driving Licence & Pass DBS check process.
For trainee applications full training will be provided, however certification must be completed within a short timeframe.
