[CLOSING DATE: Fri, 8 Dec 2017] Europe Direct Information Assistant Wrexham Library Salary Scale: L05 £16,781 - £18,746 (pro-rata) Hours of work: 18 hours per week Temporary until December 2018 Wrexham Library and Information Service has been successful in obtaining external funding to run the Europe Direct Information Centre, an information service for matters regarding the European Union. We are looking for an enthusiastic and flexible ‘people person’ to work in the centre, providing high quality impartial information to individuals, schools and other groups. Based at Wrexham Library, and reporting to the Library Services Officer (Wrexham), your role will be to provide information to the general public about the European Union with particular reference to the UK withdrawal from the EU. This includes staffing information stands at events, providing workshops to schools, producing a regular newsletter, attending meetings and events, liaising with other information providers and to take part in marketing activities. The work of the centre is impartial. Flexibility of working hours is required from time to time. A knowledge or an interest in the workings of the European Union is desirable but not essential. Familiarity with ICT, particularly Word and Excel is essential. Possession of 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above (or equivalent) is essential and knowledge of Welsh language and culture is desirable.
