Cleaning Operative x2 - Henblas Street Toilets (PTP - EXT)

Hours of work will be 9.00am to 1.00pm OR 1.00pm to 5.00pm Monday to Friday: AND 9.00am to 5.00pm alternate Saturdays. Total 23.75 hours a week (average). The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that a very high standard of cleanliness is maintained at all times. Each post holder will be responsible for both ladies and gents facilities and will be required to open and/or close the facilities as part of their duties. The work could involve some cash handling. You may also be required to respond to provide a reactive cleaning service for the nearby markets.
Principal Accountabilities
The range of work carried out by the cleaner / attendant covers all cleaning at the site to the specification provided, as well as assisting members of the public and other related duties at the direction of the Area Supervisor
1. Cleaning the facilities to the recognised satisfactory standard and at the frequencies laid down by the company as instructed by the Area Supervisor.
2. Reporting anything that is likely to affect their work or anything they consider he/she should be aware of including faults, damage, complaints or anti-social behaviour.
3. Opening and/or closing the facilities as required when on duty (including locking / unlocking)
4. Possible maintenance of a small coin float to assist members of the public.
5. Ensure compliance with the company’s health and Safety and C.O.S.H.H. documents.
6. Maintaining storage cupboards and machinery in a clean and tidy condition.
7. Using cleaning equipment and materials in the prescribed manner, accepting responsibility for the equipment used and ensuring the safe usage and storage of such equipment.
8. Signing in signing out each day and completing any required paperwork. Informing the Area supervisor as soon as possible of any reason affecting your attendance at work.
9. Any other reasonable work as instructed by the Area Supervisor.

You will be responsible for supporting them through the duration of the Order by engaging and working closely with them and their parents/carers. As a qualified Social Worker or Probation Officer, you will have experience of completing assessments, delivering interventions and managing risk.
The YJS is a busy and dynamic place to work, so you will need to be flexible and have the drive, enthusiasm and resilience to work within resources, delivering an excellent service and managing competing demands.
