Wrexham Assessment Centre is a very specialist provision with a caring, inclusive ethos. In partnership with outside agencies, we assess children's additional learning needs whilst developing their skills through a suitably differentiated Foundation Phase Curriculum. Candidates will need to be innovative, hard-working and have a positive ‘can do’ attitude. They will need to have a track record of excellence, empathy for pupils with additional learning needs and the ability to work as part of a large team. The purpose of this role is to complement the professional work of teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities under an agreed system of supervision. This may involve planning, preparing and delivering learning activities for individuals or groups and sometimes, for the whole class. It will also involve monitoring pupils and assessing, recording and reporting on pupils’ achievement, progress and development. The candidate will need to have the ability to lead the whole class in the teacher’s absence, covering PPA sessions and meetings.
